Elder Care

Many elderly people in Tibet and Nepal who do not have families live alone in harsh, destitute conditions.

In Tibet, Karuna-Shechen has built homes for the needy elderly. Our caretakers supply food and clothing to them and to residents in other elder homes at no charge. In some cases we help supplement the meager government subsidies they are given.

The palliative care unit of Shechen Clinic Nepal helps the sick elderly with compassion and care.
